Compatibility and Sound Boundaries
Compatibility depends on the complete Mac setup, not just a keyboard name. Test built-in, USB, or Bluetooth input after sleep and reconnection, and confirm the selected audio output. Klakk adds audio but does not silence hardware.
Input checklist
Test ordinary typing, modifier keys, shortcuts, large keys, reconnects, and wake from sleep. If a hub, dock, KVM, or remapping utility is involved, compare with a direct connection.
Website Mac edition
The website Mac edition requires macOS 14 or later and supports Apple silicon and Intel. It uses Input Monitoring. Follow the installation guide for the edition you downloaded.
Mac App Store edition
App Store availability, version and purchase conditions belong to that edition. Confirm them on Apple's current listing rather than using them to infer the website edition's release or license.
Audio checklist
In Klakk's audio settings, select the intended output or System Default. Test after connecting or disconnecting headphones, keep the volume comfortable, and check your recording or meeting app's actual audio capture settings.
Using a Windows PC
The separate Windows edition supports Windows 10 and 11 on ARM64 and x64. Mac Input Monitoring instructions and Mac licenses do not apply to Windows.
