Klakk for Mac now has two official installation options: a direct DMG download from tryklakk.com and the Mac App Store. Both let you add keyboard sound feedback while typing on your existing keyboard.
Choose an installation route

Klakk requires macOS 14 or later. The direct Mac download is notarized by Apple. Use an official download source so you receive the intended application.
Set up the direct download
- Download and open the DMG.
- Drag Klakk into your Applications folder.
- Launch Klakk from Applications.
- Follow the app’s prompt to open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Input Monitoring.
- Enable Klakk. If macOS requests a restart of the app after a permission change, quit and reopen it.
Input Monitoring allows Klakk to respond to keyboard events for sound playback. For more detail, see the Mac privacy policy.
Find your everyday sound
Choose a sound pack, reduce the volume to a comfortable level, and write a paragraph in an app you use every day. The free 3-day trial lets you try all 14 packs. Headphones keep the added audio private; they do not remove the noise made by your physical keys.
If no sound plays, confirm that Input Monitoring is enabled, playback is on, and Klakk’s volume and the Mac output volume are above zero. Check your audio output again after connecting or disconnecting headphones.
Continue after the trial
A one-time US$4.49 purchase unlocks continued use. The direct-download edition uses Creem checkout; the App Store edition uses Apple’s purchase flow. Follow the purchase action in the copy of Klakk you installed.
