How the sound works
Klakk uses Input Monitoring to react to the timing of key presses and plays generated audio through the output currently selected in macOS. The current product presents exactly 14 sound packs. It is an audio-feedback layer, not a keyboard remapper or sound-isolation system.
Privacy and network boundary
Klakk does not record, store, or upload typed text, passwords, or individual key content. Input Monitoring remains a sensitive macOS permission that users can deny or revoke. Klakk uses Firebase Analytics, and StoreKit, update checks, and support or App Store links may use the network, so it is not a zero-network app.
Physical and listening boundary
Klakk does not reduce physical keyboard sound, change switch or key feel, or remove keycap impact, case resonance, stabilizer noise, microphone pickup, or desk vibration. Headphones affect where the generated audio is heard; they do not silence the hardware for other people.
A1/B/A2 review method
Use the same Mac, keyboard, short passage, audio output, listening volume, posture, room and application. Record A1 with Klakk off, B with one sound at a comfortable low volume, then A2 with Klakk off again. Compare timing, routing and personal listening preference. This test cannot establish ADHD, concentration, productivity, speed, accuracy, stress, or medical outcomes.
