A sound pack gives you sounds to choose. A saved setup should restore the settings you want to use together. If you want a quiet configuration and a louder one ready to switch, count the saved configurations and their contents, as well as the sounds. Klakk’s fourteen included packs are a sound library; its current website apps do not offer named, reusable whole-settings profiles.
I’m Levin, Klakk’s developer, and prepared this buying comparison with AI assistance. We checked the current website controls and linked offers on October 13, 2026. We have not run a competing profile system or tested a combined-app setup. Published capabilities and questions to confirm before purchase are identified separately below.
The purchase can be about restoring a setup
In a July 4, 2025 MechvibesDX discussion, a user wanted mood presets for different configurations, including the keyboard sound. Their request went beyond adding another recording to a catalog: it concerned returning to a configuration.
That is one historical request, with no version specified. It does not establish the current size of this preference, a Klakk defect or whether DX later fulfilled every requested detail. It does provide a useful buying question: what should changing the selection actually restore?
| Your requirement | Capability to check |
|---|---|
| Hear a different set of key sounds | A sound-pack selector |
| Keep using the last chosen level and pack | Remembered current settings |
| Return to two or more named combinations | Saved configuration profiles with documented contents |
| Change behavior when a particular app is focused | An application rule and its trigger |
| Stop added playback whenever you decide | An enable switch or toggle shortcut |
The same word, “profile,” may describe a recording library, a set of per-key mappings or a saved configuration. A list of twenty sound profiles does not establish twenty slots for your own setups. Check what the publisher means before using that count to compare prices.
Decide which settings belong together
You might want the same recording at two playback levels. You might instead want a different recording and level together. If you use continuous background audio, you may also want to restore its balance with the keyboard layer. Those are requirements to ask about, rather than features implied by a Save button.
For each app, establish whether a named profile includes the keyboard pack, keyboard level, mouse sound, output destination or other controls you actually need. Confirm whether changing one profile updates the current settings immediately, and whether an edit overwrites the saved configuration. A sound-pack import or export can contain audio files and key mappings without containing the rest of an application’s settings.
Our custom sound-pack comparison concerns creating and importing recordings. The ambient-mixer comparison concerns continuous audio alongside reactive clicks. Neither feature alone promises that one selection restores your entire setup.
Remembered levels are also different from normalized listening volume. The same slider value can produce different digital levels for different recordings, and changing the output or system volume affects what you hear. The fourteen-pack preview comparison explains the limits of comparing recordings and preview levels. A saved percentage does not make every speaker, headphone and pack equally loud.
A Mac offer that explicitly describes saved profiles
CupertinoClicks’ official Mac guide describes saving a quiet profile and a louder setup, then switching profiles from the menu bar. Its release notes mention a Rename Profile dialog in version 1.3, dated September 2, 2026. The current release page lists version 1.4, dated October 11.
That is a more relevant published capability for this requirement than its count of keyboard presets. The checked guide does not fully specify every field stored in a profile. We have not verified profile creation, restoration, export, cross-device copying or behavior in an installed binary. Ask the developer about the particular combination you want to restore before treating the general profile description as a complete answer.
The current direct-purchase explanation, updated October 10, lists US$4.99 once for the current major version, free updates within that major version, and activation on two Macs at a time. It requires macOS 13+, with Intel and Apple silicon supported. The direct app unlocks using the checkout email and a verification code; review the final checkout amount and conditions.
Its trainer is a browser sound preview, explicitly not a Mac-app trial. It cannot confirm desktop profile controls. The direct-purchase page says its Mac App Store listing is still on the way; this comparison does not assume it is available.
The vendor’s permissions FAQ also describes Input Monitoring. Read its own privacy and purchase conditions when considering installation. A saved-profile feature does not establish latency, resource use, security or compatibility with every application; we have not measured those outcomes.
Check the fields a favorite actually saves
A named configuration is most useful when it restores the controls you normally change together. In a Canadian Keeby store review dated April 27, 2026, one user described choosing different presets during everyday use. The review does not specify the app version or prove which settings were restored. The storefront region also does not establish the reviewer’s nationality or native language.
Keeby’s developer-written version history provides a more specific snapshot description. Its 1.3.0 release, dated April 19, 2026, describes saving up to six favorites and lists these included controls:
| Group | Published snapshot contents |
|---|---|
| Sound choice | Switch selection |
| Tone and space | 2D Sound Pad position and spatial audio |
| Playback treatment | Volume normalization, per-key feel and home-row softness |
| Additional effects | Mouse and Enter sound effects |
Those six slots concern saved configurations. They are a different count from the app’s switch library or Klakk’s fourteen included packs. The feature can be relevant if you want to return to several combinations instead of adjusting each listed control again.
The checked US Keeby offer, by Adrian Angelo Abelarde, is version 1.9.0, with macOS 13+ required and a displayed US$4.99 price. Its description requires Input Monitoring. That US offer is separate from the Canadian review’s region; check the actual listing and purchase conditions for your account.
The listed snapshot comes from the older release’s published description. It does not identify an output destination among its saved fields, or establish that every control introduced in later releases is included. We have not run the current app’s create, recall or overwrite actions, tested cross-Mac synchronization, or confirmed a website trial for this App Store offer. If one of those conditions is essential, confirm it in the edition you intend to buy.
During an available evaluation, change the relevant controls away from a saved favorite, then recall it and check which values return. A successful recall is also separate from whether you enjoy the resulting sound. Preview Klakk’s fourteen packs if choosing one recording and adjusting its current controls is enough; buying that sound library does not add named configuration slots.
Klakk is for choosing a pack and adjusting its current controls
Klakk website Mac 1.4.1/build 23 and Windows 1.4.1, internal revision 2026-10-11.1, provide a selected sound pack, playback-volume and output-device controls. Their current supported interfaces do not provide named whole-configuration Save and Recall controls.
If you usually keep one pack and adjust its level, those individual controls may be sufficient. You can change the pack when you want another recording. If you specifically want one action to restore several named combinations, Klakk’s fourteen-pack catalog does not supply that feature.
Klakk’s Background Mode is another separate choice. It reduces playback level when designated meeting, music or media applications are running. It does not store a collection of your named audio setups. The pause guide explains manual controls, the background adjustment and foreground-app rules.
For an automatic change, check the condition as well as the saved values. Selecting a named profile yourself and changing behavior when an editor gains focus are different actions. A profile system does not automatically imply a rule engine; an application rule does not automatically imply reusable whole-settings snapshots. Compare the automatic playback conditions separately if that is your requirement.
Let the sound choice and control choice earn their price
If the missing feature is an enjoyable mechanical recording, hear Klakk’s fourteen included packs first. If one appeals to you, the website trial lets you evaluate its ordinary desktop controls on your intended output. You may find that choosing a pack and level directly is enough, or that named configurations remain essential.
The website trial lasts three days from first launch. Continued use is US$4.49 once per platform, plus applicable tax. Website Mac, website Windows and the Mac App Store edition have separate licenses. A CupertinoClicks purchase is a separate product and does not unlock Klakk.
The Mac website edition supports macOS 14+ on Apple silicon and Intel and needs Input Monitoring. Klakk for Windows supports Windows 10/11 on native x64 and ARM64; its installers remain unsigned. CupertinoClicks’ Mac profile description does not establish a Windows equivalent.
Klakk processes input events and key codes locally without uploading typed text or raw keystrokes. Usage analytics and licensing communication remain on both website platforms, with settings telemetry also present on Mac. Read the Mac privacy policy or Windows privacy policy for your chosen edition.
Buy the recordings you want to hear and the controls you actually plan to use. When saved configurations are a requirement, confirm their contents and evaluation conditions before payment. A larger sound library can be valuable, but its size does not answer the saved-setup question.
Frequently asked questions
Are Klakk’s fourteen sound packs fourteen saved configurations?
No. They are included keyboard sound packs. The current website Mac and Windows interfaces do not offer named whole-settings Save and Recall controls.
Is remembering my last volume the same as saved profiles?
Remembering one current state is different from keeping several named combinations you can restore. Confirm which settings a profile contains and what happens when you edit it.
Does CupertinoClicks’ browser preview let me test its desktop profiles?
Its publisher describes the trainer as a sound preview, rather than a Mac-app trial. That preview does not confirm desktop profile creation or restoration. Check those capabilities and purchase conditions separately.
Does a saved profile mean the app changes automatically when I open another app?
Not necessarily. Manual profile selection and an application-triggered rule are different controls. Check the exact trigger and stored settings rather than inferring automation from the word profile.
