How the Windows app handles keyboard events, local settings, and purchase verification.
Keyboard monitoring
A read-only Windows keyboard hook observes physical key codes to choose sounds and recognize your shortcut. Klakk does not save typed text or send key events to a server.
Data on your PC
Settings, a random installation ID, a private token, and the last verified purchase time are saved under your Windows user profile at
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Klakk Payment and verification
Creem processes the payment; Klakk does not receive card details. The license service stores the installation ID, a hash of the token, Creem order and customer IDs, and activation status in Cloudflare D1. The Windows app also checks tryklakk.com for updates.
The Windows app does not include an analytics SDK.
