Klakk’s website terms permit the purchased edition on multiple compatible computers you personally own. Mac and Windows still require separate platform purchases, and sharing your purchased access with another person is outside the website license. Count the computers, platforms and people separately before deciding what to buy.
I’m Levin, Klakk’s developer, and prepared this article with AI assistance. I checked the public terms and current website offers on October 12, 2026. This explains the offer for Mac 1.4.1/build 23 and Windows 1.4.1; it is not a test of every device activation or a claim about customer purchase results.

Two computers can mean different purchases
A laptop and a desktop might be two personal computers using the same edition. A Mac and a Windows PC need different editions. Two family members are two users, even if they share a home or one computer. These are different license questions.
| Your intended use | The purchase distinction |
|---|---|
| Your own compatible laptop and desktop, on the same platform | Klakk’s terms permit personal installation of the purchased edition on multiple compatible computers you own |
| Your Mac and your Windows PC | Website Mac and Windows are separate platform purchases |
| Another person wants to use your website purchase | The website terms prohibit sharing purchased access with others |
| An App Store purchase or family group | Apple purchase eligibility and the store edition’s entitlement must be checked separately |
The first row is a permission in the current website terms. It does not mean every computer is compatible or that an unlimited number of simultaneous activations has been verified. The public terms do not publish a numeric concurrent-activation limit. If a particular device count is essential to your decision, ask support before paying.
This distinction also appears in other software buying decisions. In a public Droppy discussion, a purchaser asked whether covering a second Mac required repurchasing. That question concerns another product and its licensing history; it is not evidence of a Klakk problem. It shows why the purchased entitlement matters more than seeing a Buy button on a new installation.
Choose the sound first, then the edition
The reason to choose Klakk is that you want to hear one of its included recordings while using your existing keyboard. Preview all fourteen packs before considering a license. They are included in the website trial and continued licensed playback, rather than being individual sound purchases.
If both of your personal computers run the same supported platform, the multi-computer permission is worth considering alongside the sounds. Website Mac requires macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon or Intel. Windows supports native x64 and ARM64 Windows 10/11. A second computer must meet the edition’s requirements too.
There is no promise that selecting a pack makes a different computer, keyboard or audio connection behave identically. The app adds playback; it does not change physical switches or reduce their noise. Use the trial to decide whether the sounds fit the setup where you want them.
Klakk’s website trial runs for three days from first launch. Continued use is US$4.49 once for the platform edition, plus applicable tax. For the overall free-versus-paid decision, read what a Klakk website purchase includes.
A Mac and a Windows PC are separate editions
The multi-computer wording applies to the edition you purchased. It does not turn one Mac purchase into a Mac-and-Windows bundle.
A website Mac license, a website Windows license and a Mac App Store purchase are separate entitlements. Select the route that corresponds to the app you plan to use. The Mac App Store price is the one shown in Apple’s regional purchase screen; the website price does not describe that store purchase.
This matters when moving between computers. Replacing a Mac with another compatible Mac keeps you in the same platform choice. Moving from a Mac to Windows changes the edition you need. Decide whether you want keyboard sounds on one platform or both before making an additional purchase.
Compare an offer that explicitly includes both operating systems
Some products publish a different cross-platform entitlement. KeySound’s September 26, 2026 developer announcement says existing owners also receive its new Mac edition and describes one purchase for Windows and Mac. This refers to KeySound by EverLifeLab on Steam.
Its current US Steam listing returned US$6.99 at our October 13 check. Its published requirements specify Apple silicon, M1 or newer, on macOS 11+, and 64-bit Windows 10/11. Intel Macs are explicitly unsupported; native Windows ARM64 support was not verified. These are publisher requirements and catalog pricing, not our installation test or a promise that every Steam client and computer combination works.
For comparison, choosing both Klakk website platforms costs US$8.98 before applicable tax at the current US$4.49-per-platform price. The offers differ in their sounds, supported computers, purchase channel and features. A cross-platform purchase does not itself establish shared settings, family access or simultaneous-activation rights. Evaluate the entitlement you need and the sound you prefer together; preview Klakk’s fourteen packs before choosing its platform trials.
Personal use and family sharing
Owning several computers is different from passing your purchase to another person. Klakk’s website license is personal and non-transferable. Its restriction on sharing purchased access applies even when the other person is a family member. A household-wide website bundle is not the offer described here.
Apple’s Family Sharing is a separate store mechanism. Apple explains that eligibility varies by app and by in-app purchase or subscription. Klakk’s US App Store listing has a conditional sharing statement; that does not verify that every full-access purchase is shareable. Confirm the specific store entitlement if family access is the reason you are buying. It does not extend a Creem website license.
Other keyboard sound products can define device rights differently. TapNoise’s current website describes Solo for one Mac and Duo for two Macs. Those are that maker’s plan conditions, not a device limit to import into Klakk. We have not run its activation process. Comparing plan names or app prices without the included device rights can miss the actual purchase difference.
Giving another person the sound
A Klack review in Apple’s Australian storefront, with a displayed timestamp of May 4, 2026, wished for a way to buy one hundred copies for other keyboard enthusiasts. That is one review of Klack, not Klakk, and a wish rather than a completed bulk order. The reviewed version, operating system and whether the timestamp represents creation or an update were not stated. The same review repeated in a dialog is not another buyer.
Giving someone access involves a different entitlement from using your own purchase on another computer. Do not give away your Klakk website license key. Its personal, non-transferable terms do not turn your own multi-computer permission into another person’s access. Nor does an eligible Family Sharing purchase establish that you may distribute it to an arbitrary group.
| Intended gift | Condition to establish |
|---|---|
| Another person’s own app access | The exact product, supported platform and recipient’s entitlement |
| An Apple app gift | That item’s eligible gifting route, account region and recipient conditions |
| Apple purchasing credit | Credit for Apple purchases, separately from a website license |
| Many separate copies | A confirmed fulfillment process rather than one shared personal key |
Apple’s current gifting explanation, published January 2, 2026, says you cannot gift apps from a Mac or Windows PC. It describes app gifting from an iPhone or iPad and requires the recipient’s Apple Account to be in the giver’s country or region. This general process does not establish that a particular Mac-only app is giftable from an iPhone; we did not inspect an authenticated gift screen for either product.
Apple separately describes gift cards redeemed into Apple Account balance, usable for eligible purchases from Apple. That credit is not a Klakk website activation or a Windows platform license, and it does not promise that a specific app or final purchase amount is covered.
For a Klakk website gift or group purchase, the public terms do not establish a gift or bulk-delivery workflow. Confirm the recipient and platform arrangement with support before buying for that purpose. No gift order, delivery, discounted bulk offer or activation for another person has been verified here. You can share the fourteen-pack preview so the recipient can choose whether they enjoy the audio before anyone pays.
Replacing a computer does not require an impulsive duplicate purchase
Before buying again, check which product, platform and channel your existing receipt belongs to. The Klakk support page describes restoring website purchases and the separate Apple route. An older order may need support if it has no license key; an updated app is not a guarantee that every earlier purchase will restore automatically.
Keep your purchase details private. Do not give another person your license key, and do not post it in a public discussion. If a new installation remains unpaid, contact support with the edition and the displayed problem instead of assuming a second payment is the only option.
We have not verified a universal self-service device-transfer or old-device deactivation flow. A compatible installation, an allowed use under the terms and a successful activation are different things. Confirm an essential migration requirement before purchasing for that purpose.
Frequently asked questions
Can my Klakk website purchase cover my own laptop and desktop?
The current terms permit the purchased edition on multiple compatible computers you personally own. The public terms do not specify a numeric concurrent-activation limit; ask support if a specific device count is essential.
Does that include a Mac and a Windows PC together?
No. Website Mac and Windows require separate platform purchases. The multi-computer permission does not combine the two editions.
Can I give my website license to a family member?
No. The website terms prohibit sharing purchased access with others. Apple’s eligible Family Sharing purchases belong to a separate store route and do not change the website license.
Should I buy again immediately when replacing my computer?
Check the original product, platform and purchase channel first. Use the matching restore route or contact support if the order or activation needs checking. A universal transfer process has not been verified here.
