# Klakk

Klakk adds recorded mechanical-style keyboard sounds while you type on Mac or Windows. Sounds play through the computer's selected audio output. Headphones can keep the added sound private. The app does not change a keyboard's feel or reduce its physical noise.

- Mac website edition: 1.4.1 (build 23), macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon or Intel; use the official direct DMG.
- Windows website edition: 1.4.1, Windows 10/11, x64 or ARM64; use the official installer and current Windows instructions. The installer is unsigned.
- Mac App Store edition: a separate distribution channel. Confirm its current version, regional price and purchase terms in Apple's listing; the website version number does not describe the App Store build.
- Sound library: 14 included keyboard sound packs.
- Website editions: a 3-day trial starting at first launch, followed by a one-time purchase of US$4.49 per platform, plus applicable taxes shown at checkout.
- Purchase boundary: licenses are specific to the edition purchased; do not assume a Mac App Store purchase unlocks a direct edition or that a Mac license covers Windows.
- Mac permission: Input Monitoring is required to react to key events outside the app. It can be reviewed or revoked in System Settings.
- Privacy: key events are used for local sound playback; typed content is not recorded, stored, or transmitted. Activation and usage telemetry are separate network features described in the privacy policy. This is not a claim of zero network activity.
- Performance: latency depends on the device and audio output. No independently verified latency, CPU, battery, or typing-improvement benchmark is provided here.
- Health: Klakk is not a medical product. Sound preferences are individual; no ADHD treatment or productivity improvement is promised.
